A restaurant host/hostess is responsible for welcoming customers and ensuring they are seated and receive attentive service. We are currently looking for a: Adventureland Inn - Spectators Host/Hostess Roles & Responsibilities: Roles and Responsibilities include: Greeting customers as they arrive at the restaurant Helping guide guests to their tables Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates Provide customers with menus and answer any initial questions they may have Optimize seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for the wait staff Answer incoming calls and accurately take guest phone orders for food As guests depart the host should circulate the restaurant and ensure that tables are bussed, sanitized, and prepared for the next guest to arrive During down time hosts perform light cleaning duties such as wiping down highchairs, sweeping the service hallway, wiping down menus daily, wiping down restaurant windows, cleaning booths, folding towels, rolling clean silverware, and ensuring that the bathrooms are in good condition Periodically check the bus tubs under the bar or on the patio to assure that dirty dishes are returned to the dish area in the back of house On occasion a host may be asked to run an item to a table on behalf of the wait staff Team member benefits: Skills: Communication – Highly developed interpersonal verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely while providing great customer service Problem Solving/Analysis: Define problems, and offer solutions to maintain a positive guest experience Flexibility – Handle multiple priorities simultaneously Initiative and Adaptability – Take initiative and maintain calm in a fast-paced, evolving environment Experience: Three or more months restaurant experience preferred but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude, outgoing, and friendly Desire to contribute to a supportive and effective team Willingness to learn Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced setting Flexible availability Other: Constant repetitive motion Continually able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. Constantly be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Frequent kneeling, bending, twisting motions Sporadically squatting and crouching Sporadically able to work in confined spaces Consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools See differences between colors and brightness See details of objects that are more than a few feet away Ability to look frequently look at a computer screen Ability to work outside when seasonality and business requires Ability to work alone or closely with team members Sporadically work in all areas of the property Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities Consistent communication with team members and other departments Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals Is subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens Do not miss the chance to spark your career now!
