A restaurant host/hostess is responsible for welcoming customers and ensuring they are seated and receive attentive service. We Are Currently Looking For aAdventureland Inn - Spectators Host/Hostess Roles & ResponsibilitiesRoles and Responsibilities include:
Greeting customers as they arrive at the restaurant
Helping guide guests to their tables
Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates
Provide customers with menus and answer any initial questions they may have
Optimize seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for the wait staff
Answer incoming calls and accurately take guest phone orders for food
As guests depart the host should circulate the restaurant and ensure that tables are bussed, sanitized, and prepared for the next guest to arrive
During down time hosts perform light cleaning duties such as wiping down highchairs, sweeping the service hallway, wiping down menus daily, wiping down restaurant windows, cleaning booths, folding towels, rolling clean silverware, and ensuring that the bathrooms are in good condition
Periodically check the bus tubs under the bar or on the patio to assure that dirty dishes are returned to the dish area in the back of house
On occasion a host may be asked to run an item to a table on behalf of the wait staff
