Addison Northwest School District seeks a 1.0 FTE certified elementary school guidance counselor at the Ferrisburgh Central School. Our school counseling services are designed to support and improve learning outcomes for all students while supporting their social and emotional growth. The school counselor works collaboratively with teachers, families, and students to ensure that all students are successful at school. Our social emotional team approach is collaborative and dynamic. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Implement effective classroom guidance focusing on understanding of self and others; coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, and study skills; and multicultural awareness.* Provide individual and small group counseling dealing with self-image and self-esteem, personal adjustment, family issues, interpersonal concerns, academic development, and behavior modification, as well as peer facilitation and peer mediation.* Work with specialized populations and needs that require special attention, such as culturally diverse populations and students with varying abilities.* Develops strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community.* Effective communicator who collaborates with a wide range of school and community-based groups.QUALIFICATIONS:Degree Preferred:Master’s degree with a concentration in guidance or its equivalentLicense: Vermont Professional Educator’s License with School Counselor endorsement (3-64)FTE:1.0Start Date:August 19, 2024Contact: Rae Donovan, FCS Principal - rdonovan@anwsd.org Deadline: May 1, 2024Only applications submitted through www.schoolspring.com will be considered.
