Fermented Food Holdings is Hiring a Paralegal Near Madison, WI

The Paralegal will assist the legal department in managing the legal aspects of the food production business. This role involves supporting a variety of legal functions such as contract management, compliance, litigation support, intellectual property, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Contract Management:
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, supply agreements, and licensing arrangements.
  • Maintain and organize contract files and ensure proper tracking of contract milestones and expirations.
  • Compliance:
  • Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research on compliance matters and provide summaries to the legal team.
  • Litigation Support:
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents for litigation, including discovery, pleadings, and other court filings.
  • Intellectual Property:
  • Assist with managing the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and patents.
  • Conduct research on intellectual property matters and assist in the enforcement of the company's IP rights.
  • General Legal Support:
  • Conduct legal research on various matters as needed and provide summaries and recommendations to the legal team.
  • Prepare legal documents, forms, and correspondence as requested by the legal team.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal department, including scheduling, organizing files, and maintaining records.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments such as procurement, finance, and operations to provide legal support and advice.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum [X] years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in the food production or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
  • Familiarity with food safety and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $48,906.89 - $58,898.62 per year
