Job Purpose:
The Administrative Assistant to the Principal is responsible for administratively assisting the Principal in effectively carrying out the day-to-day functions of his/her job.
Job Function:
Assists the Principal with preparing faculty contracts and stipend agreements for clubs and sports.
Responsible for working with the Department Chairpersons to check on and finalize the textbook lists for the upcoming school year. Works with Follett in the book Buy Back program. Also, responsible for managing the State Textbook Loan Program in collaboration with the Assistant Principal.
Assists the Principal with all communications with the Faculty/Staff and the Board of Trustees.
Helps create, organize and maintain the school calendar.
Organizes the incoming freshmen, report card, graduate and summer mailings.
Handles the principal’s calendar by scheduling appointments.
Assists the Principal by creating and editing the agendas and the minutes of various committee meetings.
Organizes all Principal’s mail and correspondences.
Proofreads and provides editing suggestions for mass written communications
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products and Google Suite
Exceptional communication and organization skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Some college preferred
Preferred executive assistant experience in a school setting
Experienced with phone and electronic communication etiquette with parents and community stakeholders
