DEPARTMENT: School of Nursing
The position of Assistant Director of the Nursing Resource Center is a full time, twelve-month faculty position with responsibilities in the Nursing Resource Center. Responsibilities of the position include teaching, assisting with the management of the Nursing Resource Center, including coordinating operations and assisting students with psycho-motor skill development and the coordination and proctoring of the standardized examinations. The Assistant Director assists in the recruitment activities, including “Open Houses” of the University and other duties as assigned by the Director.

Assisting with the management of all aspects of the Nursing Resource Center, including physical plant, teaching materials, and equipment/supplies. Coordinating activities needed to assist faculty in teaching and demonstrating clinical skills to students. Coordinating and managing technology use and simulation activities. Monitoring the use of supplies and equipment in the NRSC by students and faculty. Assisting students with the practice of technical skills, clinical calculations, and computer lab use. Coordinating and maintaining cleaning services, laundry, repairs, and equipment. Teaching responsibilities include; reviewing monthly reports detailing usage of supplies and equipment and evaluating supplies needed. Monitoring inventory of equipment and supplies. Monitoring processing of orders for replacement of needed supplies and equipment. Assisting with activities related to the administration of the standardized examinations, including but not limited to, proctoring, ordering supplies, and downloading of the tests. Maintaining student practice records/files, including sign in sheet and Remediation Request forms. Attending scheduled meetings and Completing related duties as assigned by Director.
QualificationsESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A current New Jersey RN license.
- Master of Nursing Science Degree (MSN) required.
- ANCC Certification preferred.
- 3-5 years recent clinical experience including precepting and/or teaching experience.
- Management experience and computer proficiency. Working knowledge of simulations
- Working knowledge of simulations
- Demonstration of professional commitment through such activities as membership in the New Jersey State Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau, National Nursing Honor Society.
