Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is Hiring a Senior Policy Analyst Near Minneapolis, MN

Company Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking a Sr. Policy Analyst (CICD) to support the policy work in the Center for Indian Country Development (CICD). The Center for Indian Country Development (CICD) is a national research and policy institute for the Federal Reserve System dedicated to increasing the economic inclusion and long-term prosperity of Indian Country. Headquartered out of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, CICD conducts applied research and convenes tribal leaders, practitioners, and policymakers to inform public policy on issues that influence economic outcomes in Indian Country. Research and policy efforts focus primarily on tribal enterprise diversification, small business access to capital, tribal taxation, economic infrastructure, and tribal financing mechanisms. The CICD is part of the Minneapolis Fed’s Community Development and Engagement Division. The mission of the Division is to advance the economic well-being of low- to moderate-income individuals, households, and communities and Indian Country. Staff in the Division work collaboratively to produce applied research, data analysis, and policy development to make substantial contributions to public policy. As a Policy Analyst/Sr. Policy Analyst (CICD) you will lead public policy efforts that increase tribal economic mobility and advance the CICD’s objectives. You will communicate with and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders throughout Indian Country, with national partners, and with key policymakers. We are looking for an individual who believes in the importance of good policy backed by credible research with findings that are clearly communicated in a variety of formats to a broad audience of stakeholders. You will work with members of the CICD research and engagement teams and lead an Indian Country policy portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity that has the potential to create meaningful and long-lasting impact in Indian Country. An essential function of this position is working onsite; this position qualifies for a hybrid working arrangement that supports remote work, but generally requires being onsite at least 4 days per week. This position can be located either at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis or at its branch in Helena, Montana. Please submit a cover letter and a resume. Responsibilities: Engage in thought leadership with a multidisciplinary team to drive CICD policy engagement. Identify and advance public policy solutions to challenge facing Indian Country economic development. Brief policymakers on issues within their portfolio as needed. Contribute to and produces written memos, reports, and analyses for publication on the Bank website and other venues. Translates research findings into written products and talking points to reach broad audiences. Support ad hoc requests for policy support, prepares fact sheets, and provide technical assistance to external partners. Make presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Connect the Bank’s applied research to the needs of practitioners to advance ideas and solutions. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars. Provide project management on public policy areas that affect Indian Country and CICD’s objectives. Manage projects with clearly stated goals and objectives, timelines for implementation, and metrics for success. Manage projects and relationships in a collaborative, team-based environment. Maintain effective relationships with Reserve Bank peers and management as well as key external constituents (e.g., think tanks, universities, government agencies, nonprofits, business and community leaders, financial institutions, educators, and other related organizations etc.). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience. Experience working on Indian Country-related issues. Ability to engage in thought leadership with a multidisciplinary team to drive CICD policy engagement Proven ability to manage and adapt to multiple concurrent projects, shifting priorities, and informational needs. High level of attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work without extensive oversight Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and meet tight and multiple deadlines Ability to manage projects with clearly stated goals, objectives, timelines, and meet metrics for success Strong interpersonal skills and deep experience maintaining effective and productive relationships with internal colleagues and external partners and stakeholders. Advanced writing skills with the ability to turn complex topics into compelling and accessible language. Demonstrated experience in presenting and communicating policy and research findings to a broad audience of stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in related field (social sciences, Native American studies, business administration, public administration/policy, economics). Experience working on issues related to tribal economic development. Experience working in a legislative body or government agency. Experience with policy analysis and connecting applied research and public policy.
