Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Progressive Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Progressive Care Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and care. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients in our progressive care unit.
Duties:
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens for testing
- Assist with patient alimentation, including feeding and administering fluids
- Administer IV infusions and monitor IV sites for complications
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections
- Provide specialized care in areas such as memory care, ophthalmology, or ambulatory surgery center, as required
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a progressive care or similar setting
- Proficient in medication administration, including IV medications
- Experience with ventilator management is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
