Position: Director of Recovery and Wellness Services

Function: The Director of Recovery and Wellness Services provides leadership to the core FAVOR Upstate Certified Peer Support Specialists and center locations. The Director of Recovery and Wellness Services is responsible for organizational culture in the various Recovery Center locations, including the center’s programmatic outreach and community integration. The Director of Recovery and Wellness Services sets the tone for a whole-person recovery experience rooted in a healing community and participant-center recovery planning. The Director of Recovery and Wellness Services works in close consultation with the Director of Program Development in developing long term strategy for recovery program expansion and operations. This position will ultimately be responsible for the quality of core coaching services delivered in each location.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing day-to-day administration and supervision of all program services and activities and staff assigned to program.
  • Supervises all program staff.
  • Provides administrative supervision to peer coaches.
  • Directs, advises, and consults with center managers on operational and policy issues and related courses of action and procedures.

· Ensures that all direct service staff are informed and kept up to date on trends related to participant care.

  • Responsible for documentation in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Responsible for participating in the development of center budgets and ensuring budget compliance in purchasing and other expenditures.
  • Plans and coordinates the implementation of peer-based programming at all centers.
  • Responsible for achieving clearly defined program goals and objectives, in accordance with funder and agency guidelines and requirements.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating scheduling of program activities, including documentation and associated compliance measures.
  • Identifies, establishes and maintains professional and supportive relationships with all program participants, referring partners and community agencies, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of those suffering with SUD.
  • Responsible for identifying and vetting partner/referral resources.
  • Participates in community-based public relations events as needed.

· Represents and presents organization’s philosophies and unique programming at meetings and conferences.

  • Attends management and other meetings and training as appropriate to the needs of the center(s).
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required documentation for recovery plans and milestones are developed for participant’s benefit and are updated and maintained in electronic recovery record, and are in alignment with the organization's values, mission, vision, and strategy.
  • Oversees the intake process and manages assignations for all participants (individuals and families) seeking coaching services.
  • Carries a caseload of individual, family, and/or group sessions, and regularly adjusts responsibilities to meet changing needs and program demands as needed.
  • Provide individual, group and family coaching sessions.
  • Participates in and leads special projects.
  • Prepares reports as needed.

Personnel and Cultural Management

· Creates and enhances a healing culture based on the organization’s mission, philosophy of recovery, policies, procedures, position expectations, and performance goals.

· Culture will integrate healing, wholeness, mental, and physical well-being for staff and participants.

· Assists organization in defining cultural metrics and tracking thereof.

· Identifies strengths and weaknesses in direct reports and strives to develop each to their fullest potential through additional training, coaching, or other resources.

· Assists direct reports in defining career goals and identifies opportunities for ongoing professional development.

· Provides ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.

· Provide all center and associated program staff with strategies and guidelines for program performance while empowering centers to manage their own programs and staff.

· Works collaboratively with Director of Program Development.

Education, Experience, and/or Training Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of business experience preferred. Lived experience with SUD a requirement. Experience in a Recovery setting is preferred. CPSS certification is required.

Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn any other software programs needed in the operations of FAVOR Upstate.
