Fauquier County is currently seeking to fill an Environmental Program Manager position.
This position within the Zoning and Development Services Division of the Department of Community Development will be responsible for administering the County’s erosion and sediment control (ESC) and stormwater management (SWM) programs.
This position will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the ESC and SWM programs for new and redevelopment projects with land disturbing activities; managing the programs and assigned ESC and SWM staff, maintaining coordination with the State and other entities, reporting, record keeping, tracking and directing all aspects of the program.
Other duties include, plan review, assistance with enforcement on land disturbing projects, providing guidance and technical assistance to the public, engineers, land developers and other agencies on the County’s ESC and SWM programs, and other duties as assigned or apparent.
Preferred applicants should have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with course work in civil engineering, environmental sciences or related field and extensive experience with site inspection, plan review, stormwater management, and construction design related to the erosion and sediment control and stormwater management programs. Applicants should possess VDEQ ESC Program Administrator, ECS Plan Reviewer, SWM Program Administrator, and SWM Plan Reviewer certifications
