FARMINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring an Elementary Support Coordinator 1.0 Near Farmington, MI

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate

Master’s degree work in an area of literacy and/or mathematics, preferred

Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience

Successful experience in facilitating and supporting adult learning

Successful leadership experience working with teachers at the building and/or district level

Interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration)

RESPONSIBILITIES
An Elementary Support Coordinator will:

Collaborate and work closely with building principals, school MTSS teams and grade level teams to
create intervention learning targets, progress monitoring tools and create intervention groups

Collaborate with teachers and the building principals, school MTSS teams and grade level teams on
collection and analyzing of student data

Focus on student learning by enhancing interventionists/para’s ability to provide instruction that builds
student understanding and skills in math and literacy

Help interventionists use research based practices and district approved intervention supports and
materials to improve student learning in math and literacy and provide continuity across buildings.

Work in collaboration with teachers and building principals, determine implementation needs of
interventionist/para support

Build capacity of building-level literacy and math support staff.

Model research based instructional practices

Support teachers with identification of strategies to support IRIP goal and the overall IRIP process.
