Job Summary

The Business Continuity Management (BCM) Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the business continuity program. Responsibilities include facilitating the maintenance of the:

1. Bank-wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
2. Bank-wide business resumption plans
3. Business resumption test planning and results documentation
4. IT disaster recovery test planning and results documentation
5. Business continuity program documentation (annual Board report and presentation)

The BCM Coordinator advises Bank management on technology risk and vendor risk management. This will include conducting, documenting, and maintaining IT, security, application, and vendor risk assessments to ensure compliance with Bank policy and government regulations. This position will manage repositories for risk-related documentation to ensure they are accurate, complete, and updated timely. The BCM Coordinator will assist the IT Services Manager as a secondary emergency response coordinator for the Bank’s Administrative Recovery Team.

Essential Duties 

• Create and maintain BCP and risk-related documentation based on the BIA.
• Complete the BIA to ensure all departments, locations and critical functions are included and accurate.
• Update and maintain BCP Framework, including goals, objectives and scope for business continuity plans and Crisis Management
• Respond to audit and exam requests for information. Review issues and plan response activities with IT Services Manager. Manage response activities to ensure responses are properly implemented.
• Design and conduct periodic tests business continuity tests (tabletop, actual, and critical third-party vendors) to ensure compliance with security standards, policies and procedures. Document periodic tests results and define potential problems and solutions.
• Produce periodic management reports on the effectiveness and value of the BCP and risk management activities. 
• Participate in the Administrative Recovery Team and direct staff during incident response activities.
• Ensure program adheres to federal and or state requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Complies with all State and Federal Banking regulatory requirements, including but not limited to: BSA, Anti-Money Laundering OFAC, CIP, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, Sexual Harassment, Information Security and privacy requirements. This position will elevate suspicious activity to supervisory staff and/or BSA department. Completes compliance and other technical training workshops as assigned.

Officer Title Eligibility

For qualified positions, the Bank may designate an Officer Title to an employee who seeks and/or meets defined competencies for an eligible position. This position qualifies for the officer title(s) Assistant Vice President, Vice President.

Education and Experience 

• Bachelors in computer science or equivalent years of experience required.
• Five or more years IT governance, security, risk, or business continuity experience required.
• An Active Business Continuity or Risk Management certification (ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, ARMP, and CRMP) is preferred.
• Working Knowledge of industry “best practice” frameworks including DRII, ITIL ISO 22301, and NIST is preferred.
• Must have the proven ability to serve as an effective member of the management team, be an effective leader to a team; and interact effectively with risk and data managers, auditors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders.
