Position Title : Director of Operations
Role Overview: The Director of Operations will lead a team to achieve exceptional performance across all facets of the Food Hall operation. The role establishes strategic direction, ensuring adherence to our standards and values. Serving as a mentor and advocate for all team members, the Director attracts and nurtures talent, fosters skill development, and cultivates a positive and empowering on-site culture. The role is being the representative and advocate for the Food Hall, nurturing relationships with team members, vendors and within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Employee / Management Development:
  • Recruiting: Spearhead the recruitment process by identifying talent needs, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process to ensure a seamless integration of new hires into the team.
  • Performance Reviews: Assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for growth and development. Build a rich culture of trust, pride and joy that will result in a high employee advocacy and engagement.
  • Business Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of business operations, analyzing key performance indicators, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and developing strategies to optimize overall efficiency and productivity.
Sales and Promotions:
  • Actively seek opportunities to boost sales and enhance guest satisfaction through innovative promotional initiatives and engaging guest interactions.
  • Oversee the creation and successful implementation of the guest experience - and that team is motivated and engaged.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute compelling promotional campaigns that resonate with target audiences and drive foot traffic to the establishment.
  • Foster collaborative efforts with Events and Marketing Managers to successfully plan and execute on-site events and community initiatives that align with the organization's brand identity and objectives.
Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain a strong rapport with the Richard Sandoval Hospitality Operations team, serving as the primary point of contact for all operational matters related to the Food Hall.
  • Conduct regular meetings and monthly calls to review profit and loss statements, address operational challenges, and strategize solutions to enhance overall performance and profitability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to negotiate favorable terms, manage inventory levels, and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure a steady supply of high-quality products.
  • Oversee the development of the strategy and business plan to deliver on our mission of being a top tiered Food Hall and one-of-a-kind hospitality experience.
Owner Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the operation and the owners, fostering transparent communication and building strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Act as a steward of the owners' assets, ensuring their interests and objectives are prioritized in all operational decisions and initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the owners on key performance metrics, financial results, and operational challenges, demonstrating accountability and transparency in the management of their investments.
  • Proactively address any concerns or inquiries from the owners, promptly resolving issues and providing strategic recommendations to optimize asset performance and maximize returns.
  • Collaborate with the owners to develop long-term strategic plans and initiatives that align with their vision and objectives for the operation, leveraging insights and expertise to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is expected to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed, based on when the facility is open. This position is not expected to travel.
