Far Northern Regional Center is Hiring a Resource Development Quality Assurance/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Specialist Near Redding, CA

POSITION:
Resource Development Quality Assurance/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Specialist Bargaining Unit Position

LOCATION:
Chico or Redding Office

HOURS:
Full Time Position - 39 hours per week

SALARY & BENEFITS: $31.63 – $38.76 per hour, and an additional $300.00 per month for ASL compensation. Complete package of fringe benefits including vacation, sick leave, health insurance, 16 paid Holidays, and CalPERS Retirement. Travel allowance for fieldwork.

JOB SYNOPSIS & QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:
The Specialist will support the expansion of deaf service resources and be the Regional Center’s point person and subject matter expert on the provision of service to the deaf and hard of hearing community. Will support FNRC staff and will oversee the quality assurance process to ensure current and newly developed services meet the specific needs of individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing including development and implementation of client communication assessments through collaboration with the DDS. Ensure communication needs are identified, documented, and assessments inform the Individual Program Plan (IPP). Participate in compliance audits. Assess for and report on any unmet service needs or additional service development that may be necessary to fully serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The Specialist will engage in resource development within FNRC’s nine-county catchment area and may complete all steps in the vendorization of various services, including resources to enhance service delivery to the deaf and hard of hearing. Will update processes as needed and respond to Regional Center compliance activities that may include DDS reporting, transparency requirements, requests for data, and QA reporting. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in social work or a closely related field and one year of experience or four years of equivalent experience, preferably in a regional center setting with knowledge/understanding of system processes; and two years following completion of an accredited American Sign Language Interpreter program or two year experience and ability to demonstrate Fluency in American Sign Language.
