Job Description

What’s the opportunity?

As part of our dynamic team, the successful candidate will support the ySafe WA Education team by providing face-to-face or virtual online safety education sessions in classroom settings for students in primary and secondary schools across Western Australia. This person will be a dynamic, experienced and engaging presenter, with sound knowledge of the education sector and the online safety landscape. This person will also readily showcase their knowledge and passion for the positive use of digital technologies by young people such as social media and online games. 

Reporting to our National Education Manager, this person also has a background in or is studying Psychology or Counselling, Teaching (Primary or Secondary), Social Sciences or Child Development.

Here’s how you’ll do it:

• Deliver online safety education presentations throughout metropolitan Perth and on occasion greater WA.
• Workshops will typically be held during the day (Monday-Friday).
• As this role is based upon bookings by schools, the hours are inconsistent and will vary week to week. We work with all of our facilitators to make sure that the sessions we schedule fit in with our facilitators calendars, providing a great opportunity for work/life balance.
• Facilitating the professional delivery of education sessions to young people.
• Ensuring the professional and high quality delivery of ySafe programs and products across schools in WA.
• Support WA based project work as directed by the National Education Manager.

Qualifications

What will you bring?

• Degree or background in Psychology, Counselling, Teaching or Child Development.
• Strong presentation experience or a performance background.
• Sound knowledge of and experience in the Australian school education sector. 
• Superior written and oral communication skills.

• A proactive mindset, and are always looking for ways to deliver to an exceptional standard.
• Superior organisational and communication skills.
• Versatile ability to relate to children and teens of ages 5 to 18 in both classroom & non-classroom settings.
• Broad knowledge of the online safety space (highly desirable) with strong ability to communicate this knowledge to young people.
• High level of professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform in varied public spaces.
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel throughout metropolitan & surrounding areas.
• Full WA Drivers licence and regular access to a vehicle.
