Description

The Associate position is a key role that requires attention to detail and a “Can Do” attitude. The main priority of an Associate will always be the needs of the customer and providing a high level of customer service. In addition, they work with their team to complete the daily functions of their Department in order to keep our store clean, fully stocked, and beautiful.

Duties

• Assist customers and provide a high-level of customer service.
• Complete tickets for customer orders clearly, legibly, and accurately.
• Move customer orders to loading area or register area, and/or applying sold tags as needed.
• Answer customer questions. Know where to find information or which team members to ask for answers when they are not known.
• Answer department phone calls as needed.
• Assist at the registers with wrapping/boxing merchandise and carry outs as needed.
• Sweep walkways and aisles, and empty trash cans during and at the end of each shift.
• Watering, weeding, cleaning, pruning or otherwise caring for plant material as needed or instructed.
• Loading/Unloading trucks.
• Restock merchandise, including moving full greenhouse or flatbed carts, and applying price tags or stickers as needed.
• Work with the team to complete daily work lists provided by department managers.
• Assist buyers or Managers by informing them of outages or shortages on merchandise, and customer special orders.
• Maintain cleanliness as a point of attention throughout the store.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to work in all weather types and potentially the extremes of wet, cold, hot, dry or combinations thereof.
• Able to stand, walk, and be on their feet for multiple hours at a time with minimal breaks.
• Able to comfortably lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Comfortable working in a high-paced work environment involving multiple people.
• Comfortable working in a team setting.
• Willing to be coached in order to excel in one's position.
• Willing to move around and to fill in any other areas where team member support is needed, and as directed by store leadership.
