Part Time 23 hours

$17.25 an hour

$18.25 an hour once med certification is completed

Sun-3pm-10pm

Mon-7am-10am

Tue-5pm-10pm

Thur-2pm-10pm

**Job Summary:**
The Direct Support Professional will work part-time in Naugatuck, providing habilitation assistance and care to clients in various agency programs. This role involves direct daily care, teaching, and supervision of clients, as well as record keeping.
**Responsibilities:**
- Supervise and ensure the well-being of clients, being aware of their status and location at all times
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Assistant to develop and implement individualized plans for each client
- Teach, supervise, and assist clients in performing adult daily living activities, such as personal care, meal planning, hygiene, shopping, etc.
- Monitor client progress on goals and report any incidents of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment
- Complete incident reports, medication error reports, and implement behavioral plans as needed
- Implement therapist recommendations and programs, such as positioning, sensory stimulation, etc.
- Develop and organize recreational and community participation activities
- Work cooperatively with the Clinical Director, Consultants, families, schools, and other agencies
- Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping of services provided and client goals
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and training sessions
- Administer medications, provide routine health care, and first aid to clients
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of program sites and transportation vehicles
- Transport clients to and from designated activities and programs
- Conduct and participate in emergency drills as required
- Maintain accurate petty cash and client cash on hand accounts
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director or Assistant
**Qualifications:**
- Must be able to complete the Medication Certification Program
- Must be able to complete PMT, CPR, and First Aid training programs
- Valid CT driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with developmental and/or behavioral challenges, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
**Physical Demands:**
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds, with the potential for exerting over 100 pounds of force during physical restraint procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk and hear, and have close vision and the ability to adjust focus
**Language and Mathematical Skills:**
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting English documents, and writing routine reports and correspondence in English
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
**Reasoning Ability:**
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and problem-solving skills in carrying out instructions and dealing with various situations
**Work Environment:**
The work environment is usually moderate in noise level. The employee may need to travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions while performing the duties of this position.

$17.25 an hour, 23HRS/WEEK
