Family League of Baltimore is Hiring a Remote Project Manager, Youth Development Portfolio

POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that data collected by the programs and community schools in our Youth Development portfolio and teams are complete, accurate, and effectively utilized. This role is one of four Project Managers on the Data and Evaluation team that works in tandem with Program staff members who work with school and community-based youth development programs. The Project Manager cleans, analyzes, and presents data to demonstrate to various stakeholders that programs are delivering services as intended and are improving outcomes for children and their families. They provide technical assistance to a variety of internal and external stakeholders on using data to guide decision making and to enhance delivery of quality services for Family League funded programs and projects in this portfolio. The Project Manager must have excellent analytical skills, be detail oriented, and be willing to identify and provide support where needed for a variety of diverse programs and projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assess data capacity and offer specialized technical assistance related to data collection, data quality, cleaning, analysis, and reporting for a portfolio of family and youth-serving organizations and teams.
  • Conduct data cleaning and analysis; prepare and present reports and other data visualizations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops on performance measurement using the Results Based Accountability framework, data collection, and other related topic areas to stakeholders.
  • Support various partners with developing appropriate performance measures and associated targets to tell the story of their work.
  • Work with various teams, internally and externally, to provide guidance regarding best practices related to data collection procedures, data management, data quality, continuous quality improvement, and data sharing.
  • Lead various Data & Evaluation workgroups and support collaborative tables on behalf of the organization.
  • Facilitate communication with programmatic sites, Family League, funders, etc.as related to data needs and concerns; support sites in ensuring adherence to data confidentiality and security policies.
  • Develop survey and other data collection tools using best practices; analyze, report, and present associated findings internally and externally.
  • Serve as a resource to other Project Managers in the Data and Evaluation team on data-related projects.
  • Attend all required meetings, trainings, and funded partner support sessions.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support Data & Evaluation and other cross-functional teams in other data and evaluation projects.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Data & Evaluation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a strong commitment to the mission and vision of Family League.
  • Must have a commitment to working with a diverse team on implementing culturally inclusive practices and participating in dialogue on equity in the communities served.
  • Must have expertise and practical experience in data collection, management, analysis, and presentation.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience managing data (including data collection, data entry, developing data processes, providing technical assistance, and writing reports).
  • Fluency in Excel for data management and analysis required.
  • Proficiency with SPSS statistical software a plus.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and impact communication required.
  • Experience mapping, especially with ArcGIS a plus.
  • Ability to write compelling reports required.
  • Excellent technology skills including all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), internet use are required.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new software programs and identifying appropriate software tools to meet organizational needs required.
  • Related work experience in and knowledge of the Baltimore community and programs supporting children and families preferred (e.g.: education, health, food security, etc.).
  • Experience working with schools and youth development programs preferred.
  • Experience with Results Based Accountability a plus.
  • Strong facilitation skills and background in providing professional development preferred.
  • Must be collaborative, able to build partnerships, and work with a variety of programs and individuals.
  • Flexible team member who is a proactive, self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and assignments.
  • Ability to ensure adherence to applicable Federal, State, or local rules, regulations, and laws.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, staff are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone or computer; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.

Mental Demands

Staff are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with elected and appointed officials, staff, and community members.

TRAVEL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, travel to meetings and events throughout Baltimore City and the State of Maryland is required. Occasional out-of-state and overnight travel may also be required.

Outside of this travel, staff members establish a remote, hybrid, or in-person schedule that meets the needs of the team and role with their manager.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position qualifies for a phone and internet connectivity stipend of $100/month.

Baltimore City residency preferred. Maryland residency required.
