Job Profile Summary:

The Manager of Pediatric Development Services (PDS) provides oversight and management of PDS programs and services. This position will work with PSR coordinator(s) ensuring optimal performance of front and back operational tasks. With maintenance of regulatory compliance, building, community support and partnerships, strategic planning, and setting and attaining goals for PDS.

General Job Description:

The Manager of Pediatric Development Services (PDS) provides oversight and management of PDS programs and services. This position will work with PSR coordinator(s) ensuring optimal performance of front and back operational tasks. With maintenance of regulatory compliance, building, community support and partnerships, strategic planning, and setting and attaining goals for PDS.

Job Roles

  • Builds and maintains community linkages and support for assigned programs and services.
  • Builds positive relationships, inspires others to perform at a higher level, prepares career development plans and retains an accountable workforce.
  • Coaches and counsels staff and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • Ensures applicable regulatory and department standards are met or exceeded and adhered to on an on-going basis (JCAHO, OSHA, Safety Standards, etc.). Ensures all programmatic audits, reporting, and expenditures of assigned grant funds and/or programs are met.
  • Recruits, trains, develops, engages and retains an accountable workforce.
  • Leads, educates, coaches and mentors others on LEAN continuous process improvement philosophy, tools and application to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and ensures appropriate Lean tools (i.e., 5S, A3) are deployed and results are evaluated and/or measured.
  • Assists in prepares preliminary budgets for assigned program(s) and/or services. Reviews all purchasing requests and monitors all expenditures according to approved budgets. Works to maximize revenues within program(s) and/or services.
  • Provides/ensures staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.
  • Together with the management and leadership team, assists with development, implementation and achievement of short-term and long-term goals, such as teamwork, customer service, productivity, grant targets, etc. Facilitates resolutions of complains using AIDET and FHCSD Standards of Conduct.
  • Together with the management and leadership team, generates and implements plans for ensuring maximization of PDS service utilization, productivity, and profitability. Participates in strategic planning and marketing decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • 2 years of supervisory experience strongly desired.
  • 2 years’ experience in health care industry and involvement in care coordination activities for children and families.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.
  • Master's degree in Public Health Administration, Business, or related field.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers as a member of a multi-disciplinary community health team with a diverse multi-cultural population.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer applications and software, including MS Office, data collection, and patient tracking.
  • Effective training and coaching skills; ability to drive results and achieve objectives through others.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with patients and family members who speak English as a second language.
  • Knowledge of functions, services and positions of the program(s) under area of control.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques, including performance management and employee development.
  • Knowledge of the service needs of children with special needs and their families, and the resources for the same.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, create, maintain, and adhere to budgets, fiscal planning, grant programs, and reporting requirements at a managerial level of responsibility.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
