Family Eye Physicians is Hiring a Medical Biller - Oakbrook Near Brook, IL

Job Title: Medical Biller - Oakbrook
Location: Oakbrook Terrace (not a remote position)
Department: Billing
Reports to: Billing Manager
Medical Biller responsibilities

Prepare medical claims and transmit them using billing software
Analyze patient records and assign correct codes to bills and invoices
Verify eligibility and benefits for client procedures
Review, prepare and transmit claims using electronic and paper claim processing
Manage and resolve unpaid and denied claims in a timely manner
Maintain patient information confidentiality
Audit and update claims
Takes calls related to billing from patients, insurance companies and employees
Processes Insurance payments
Works on accounts receivable
Takes payments from patients over the phone

Medical Biller requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Familiar with the claims and submission processes of insurance companies and other healthcare agencies, such as Medicaid and Medicare
Previous medical billing experience preferred
Familiarity with electronic medical records
Knowledge of standard billing codes for services rendered
Problem-solver who can maintain a calm and patient attitude when helping clients and insurers to resolve denials, appeals, or collections
