Family Development Services ~A Head Start Organization~ is Hiring an Intake Assistant - 3637 North Meridian Street Near Indianapolis, IN

Intake Assistant 
The Intake Assistant will work collaboratively with the Family Engagement team to ensure the execution of high quality ERSEA systems and policies that are in full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Family Development Services policies and procedures. The Intake Assistant supports the program and ensures that it is fully enrolled, reaches HS eligible children and families in our communities, maintains high levels of attendance and delivers the highest level of customer experience to our families throughout the recruitment, application and enrollment process
The Intake Assistant's responsibilities chiefly fall within the following core functions, although s/he may perform other tasks as needed:
Recruitment
  • Works in collaboration with program leadership to develop program-wide recruitment plans, including disabilities and mental health recruitment.
  • Provides support to the Family Engagement team to identify and nurture recruitment partnerships in their respective communities.

Eligibility, Selection, and Enrollment

  • Oversees and maintains timely processing of applications from recruitment through acceptance - in a family friendly way.
  • Supports the Family Engagement or ERSEA Coordinator in the development of the program's Selection Criteria.
  • Select children and families based on approved "Selection Criteria" and maintain a waiting list of eligible children to enroll.

Attendance

  • Supports the Family Engagement team with monitoring of program wide attendance.
  • Supports Family Engagement or ERSEA Coordinator with oversight and coordination of automated attendance training, implementation and follow up.
  • Assists with monitoring center level ADA and works with program & center leadership when ADA falls below 85%.
Specific Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Must have experience working in a clerical support position
  • Demonstrated high quality customer service
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license, at least minimum automobile insurance coverage and availability for local travel as needed
