Family Crisis Center is Hiring an Executive Director Near Jonesboro, AR

The Family Crisis Center, Inc. (FCC) is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. FCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated in 1986, and provides 24-hour shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The FCC also operates a rape crisis center, where forensic sexual assault examinations are performed by SANE trained nurses. Additionally, the FCC operates a thrift store business for the purpose of providing financial support for program operations, and other support for clients. FCC is physically located in Jonesboro, AR and serves 7 counties throughout Northeast Arkansas. FCC offers a competitive salary, commensurate with education and experience, PTO, and health benefits. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all programming, including, but not limited to, staff hiring, evaluation, training and supervision, procurement of funds, management of systems, grant writing, ensuring the provision of quality services, community education and public relations. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors and assists board committees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes overall responsibility for the operation and staffing of the program.
  • Effectively works with all staff, board members, volunteers, students, clients and their children.
  • Ensures all aforementioned individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Ensures FCC philosophy of care is followed, and inclusive of all people, regardless of age, race, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, or religion.
  • Ensures that all contacts with and services provided for victims of domestic and sexual violence are kept confidential.
  • Coordinates training and supervision of all program staff.
  • Evaluates staff performance and mediates any program conflicts, with assistance from the Personnel Committee if necessary.
  • Effectively uses community resources to ensure comprehensive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Performs public relations activities on behalf of the program, including speaking engagements, media coverage and community education.
  • Serves as liaison between program staff and the Board of Directors.
  • Participates in advocacy activities on behalf of survivors and their children on the local, state and national level to ensure an increased level of awareness of the issue of domestic and sexual violence by the general public and policy makers.
  • Prepares program budgets and provides monthly and annual financial and program reports as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors and funders.
  • Oversees grant billing procedures and maintains appropriate record-keeping systems for program and fiscal reporting as required by state and federal funding sources.
  • Assists board of directors and designated staff in meeting the needs of Second Home Shoppe.
  • Works with board committees to establish policies for program, fiscal and personnel matters.
  • Implements, expands and suggests changes in policies as organizational growth or program issues require.
  • Procures ongoing funding through grant writing and assists the Board of Directors with fund-raising activities.
  • Ensures positive relationships with local, state, and federal partners.
  • Stays current with the latest information, research and best practices for service provision in the areas of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Represents the organization in a professional manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful candidates will hold a master’s degree in an appropriate field, have experience in non-profit management and grant writing, strong leadership skills with a team oriented management style.
  • At least two years of experience working in a domestic violence program.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the issues of domestic and sexual violence, and a demonstrated ability to advocate on behalf of survivors.
  • Must have the ability to work with staff in multiple programs, including medical professionals, and communicate the needs of staff and the organization clearly to the board.
  • The ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • A demonstrated understanding of grant writing and grant management.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and conferences, both in and out of state.
  • The ability to work with people of various backgrounds, ages, cultures, ethnicities, and lifestyles that are different from their own.
