Position Summary: This role is specific to Denovo markets to support the initial opening of clinics and is responsible for qualifying TMS patients for insurance coverage, obtaining and maintaining authorizations, and working with internal and external clinicians to ensure patient collaboration of care. May also perform TMS treatments under a physician’s supervision and serve in a medical assistant capacity, providing patient care under direct supervision of the med management provider.  

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with Benefits Investigator/Cost Estimation Team to understand and relay findings to patients. Work with patients on financing options when applicable (insurance and self-pay).
• Complete prior authorization forms and ensure prompt insurance follow up.
• Act as patient liaison throughout the journey from consultation to patient start. Provide consistent communication with patients so they understand where they are in the insurance approval process.
• Schedules patients’ TMS mappings with PA and MD.
• Administers TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) treatments and supports patient during treatments using positive communication and reinforcement to ensure optimal results are achieved.
• Monitor for adverse effects and notify the doctor or provider. Assist in the management of adverse effects including seizures.
• Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record (EHR) system and paper as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal program as a medical assistant required. 
• Two years' experience in healthcare related field required.
• One year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred. 
• Electronic Medical Record experience and health insurance experience preferred. 
• TMS training certification required after 90 days of employment. 
• Current BLS preferred.
