Part-Time / Full-Time position (24 - 40 hours/week)
Rate of pay based on licensure
The ideal candidate for this position will be an individual with the appropriate education, independent licensure and assessment skills to quickly determine the needs of clients looking to begin services. Through the intake process, a diagnostic impression is made, a preliminary care plan is developed and the client is referred to the appropriate service provider(s).The Intake Coordinator needs to be equally adept at assessing mental health and substance use disorders, as many of our clients have co-occurring disorders. They will need to demonstrate the skills to write-up a comprehensive and clinically-sound summary of the results of the intake and to make treatment recommendations for the client. It is also important to gauge what services the client is willing to engage in despite your recommendations. The Intake Coordinator is an important position because they serve as the initial contact point for new clients coming into the agency.
As the Intake Coordinator at the Adult Office, your scheduled work hours will be, depending on part-time or full-time status, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. There is also the possibility of keeping a small caseload of traditional therapy clients, if this is of interest to the applicant.
There are no expectations to work on the weekend and we have nine scheduled Holidays throughout the year. Full and Part Time employees have vacation time available after one year of employment. In your role as an Intake Coordinator, you will serve as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team including case managers, other counselors, medical providers, clinical supervision and support staff. They all share the common intention of providing our clients with the services needed to facilitate their ability to function at the highest possible level.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for the coordination of the Open Access Intake Department at the Adult Office of VCS. Primary responsibilities include completing diagnostic assessments on a walk-in basis, crisis management, case coordination with community referrals and acting as the liaison between the courts, hospitals and other community agencies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for completing diagnostic assessments on a walk-in basis
2. Coordinate crisis management services to walk-in clients and triage crisis calls as needed
3. Scheduling of new client follow-up appointments and explaining new client policies in a clear and professional manner
4. Provide case coordination with referrals
5. Act as the agency liaison with local hospitals, courts, jail, etc.
6. Complete peer reviews as assigned by the Clinical Director
7. Assist the leadership team with developing a strong productive organizational culture
8. Assist with the on-boarding of new clinical staff members
9. Assist with the coordination of court assigned OPC clients
10. Maintain a high level working knowledge of the electronic medical chart
11. Participate in data collection and assessment of PI activities.
12. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of current diagnostic standards.
2. Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and COA standards related to behavioral health treatment.
3. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited university required. Must be licensed as a LPCC/LPCC-S or LISW/LISW-S.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Prior mental health counseling experience is required.
