The Family Services Manager is directly responsible for administrative, operational, and programmatic support, leadership, and oversight of assigned programs, units, projects, initiatives, and/or divisions. This position will be expected to work in a team with agency directors, program managers, and supervisors to ensure the administrative, operational, and programmatic needs of each assigned program are identified and strategically addressed in a manner that is consistent with our agency values, philosophies, contract standard of work practices, and evidence-based practices.

- Attend all assigned agency, division, team, and community meetings with the primary goal of contributing perspective and input, as well as engaging in intentional collaboration
- Maintain documentation and records services delivered in accordance with agency and division systems, policies, and expectations, and in compliance with state, insurance, and contract requirements
- Ensure that documentation and reports are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with division systems, policies, and expectations, and in compliance with state, insurance, and contract requirements
- Provide clinical coaching and guidance to assigned staff in the areas of case formulation & plan of care development, case staffings,clinical practice, transition & discharge planning, safety planning, and reflective supervision (individual and group)
- Provide education and training to the agency in the areas of mental health, clinical frameworks, evidence-informed and based practices, including child welfare & safety training
- When appropriate, complete any notes and billing related to any support, resource, interaction, or service provided to program participants and their families in a timely manner and in accordance with set deadlines
- Record appropriate documentation and maintain accurate program records as to maintain compliance with contract and program reporting and data entry requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or Criminology from an accredited College or University. LISW, LCSW, LPC, etc.
- Must maintain a full certification of the following trainings; CPR/First Aid and CPI
- Minimum of 5 years experience in working within the child welfare and family services systems, to include experience in the following service areas and/or populations: substance abuse & recovery, homelessness, LGBTQ community, system involved (juvenile justice, protective services, etc.), BIPOC/underrepresented, mental health treatment, trauma-informed care, developmental disabilities, etc.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in providing direct supervision and management within a non-profit, behavioral health, educational, or similar setting or organization.

Families and Youth, Inc., (FYI) underlying philosophy is to build on family and individual strengths to preserve family ties whenever possible. FYI's approach to youth development is to empower the youth to increase personal assets and enhance coping/survival skills. A multi-systemic approach to providing services is utilized by the staff, emphasizing specific skill development. Individual cognitive behavioral therapy and strategic or structural family therapy are provided to the adolescent and their families based on their individual treatment plan. FYI began as Children in Need of Services (...CHINS, INC.,) on April 1977 under the leadership of Jose V. Frietze, LISW. To assess what services were needed, future State Representative Antonio Lujan, LISW, wrote a conceptual white paper and introduced the concept of a program based on the Salvador Minuchin Model of Family Therapy. Using this model, the CHINS approach focused on the participation of the entire family to enhance the possibility of a child's success. This model was adopted for statewide implementation of CHINS Services. As a result of elections in New Mexico, a new Governor was elected in 1984. That Governor proceeded to eliminate all funding for CHINS programs statewide. This sudden and dramatic change in funding forced CHINS, Inc., to re-examine its organizational structure and its focus. CHINS, Inc. was on the verge of closing down and the staff members who remained chose to make this challenge an opportunity. Collectively they decided to rename the agency Families & Youth, Inc., (FYI). A mission statement was developed and a new assertive attitude surfaced among the FYI staff.
