Pay Range: $110,000 - $115,000 K

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Planning Manager at Falck, a global emergency medical services provider. As the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for assisting Falck San Diego with ongoing deployment and ensuring optimal utilization of ambulance resources. This role plays a critical part in supporting our mission to provide high-quality emergency medical services to the communities we serve.

The Planning Manager will be required to have a good understanding of the system's performance, compliance requirements, and have a good understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the City of San Diego Emergency Provider contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the People & Culture and the Managing Director to recommend appropriate staffing levels that meet the requirements of the City of San Diego Emergency Provider contract.
  • Maintain the Daily Unit Hour (UH) report.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and the Business Finance Officer (monthly) to create and maintain Alliance Model Invoicing based on Unit Hours between the hours of 0700-0700.
  • Collect and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) from entities that are not automated to track and trend performance. Identify exceptional performance and share best practices with other entities.
  • Work with the local team to create shift variations to meet desired unit hours and deployment plans.
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure missed meal periods (C7 report), calls after end of shift (EOS) and premium pay is submitted timely and correctly (bi-weekly).
  • Work in collaboration with San Diego Fire Rescue to meet or exceed unit allocation and deployment of resources.
  • Complete reports, evaluations, studies, and demand analysis related to response time compliance and utilization reports. Provide recommendations to the local team for improvement.
  • Complete monthly reports that include the SDAPP IQ (in quarters), Unit Hour Utilization (UHU) per ERZ.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture to investigate and resolve deployment complaints and grievances.
  • Prepare shift bid documents including shift bid packets for field staff and collaborate with labor to conduct shift bid meetings.
  • Maintain employee seniority list and work closely with the People and Culture and Clinical Education departments for employee needs and promotions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with the completion of appropriate forms and reports.
  • Designate a replacement when appropriate.
  • Inventory and request needed supplies for department tasks.
  • Attend all required meetings, including travel to other Falck USA sites when necessary.
  • Stay informed of relevant economic conditions and situations and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a high profile as a knowledge mentor, motivator, and lead by-example staff leader.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a supervisor or equivalent experience in EMS or related pre-hospital management field.
  • Excellent management, supervisory, and overall leadership skills, including relationship building and fostering teamwork.
  • Strong analytical skills and quality orientation with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Required Experience with Excel to include - Pivot Tables, Formulas, and Google Docs Experience, Preferred Experience with Power B.I
  • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deliver outstanding service to internal and external customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Highly dependable with the ability to consistently meet internal deadlines and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's Driving Policy.
  • Innovative and resourceful mindset with the ability to embrace change and generate new ideas.
  • Maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • EMD Certification preferred.
