We are looking for an experienced RN Director of nursing to lead our team in Des Moines, IA. Candidate must be committed to the highest standards of care and professionalism. This position provides direction, planning, and oversite to the day to day clinical operations. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of the Conditions of Participation for Medicare Home Health, Federal and State Regulations. Strong clinical background, Strong leadership and communication skills, financial skills and computer skills. Qualified Director of Nursing should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Home Health industry. Candidate will also be responsible for reviewing patient plans of care, conducting a weekly case conference with all clinical disciplines, managing and evaluating the clinical team to ensure the highest care is being delivered to our patients and be willing to learn company’s episode management model. Qualified individual will be required to successfully pass background and drug screening in addition to the skills and qualifications listed below.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan, and oversee the day to day clinical operations of the agency
• Guide staffing procedures
• Set objectives and long-term goals for the Des Moines home health team
• Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures to ensure the best care for our patients
• Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards
• Control budgets and monitor expenditures
• Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
• Manage record-keeping procedures
• Collaborate with other interdisciplinary teams to streamline operations
• Report to upper management

Skills

• Must have home health experience
• Proven experience as director of nursing
• In-depth knowledge of the Conditions of Participation for Medicare for Home Health
• Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
• Great knowledge of Federal and State legal regulations and best practices in home health
• Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in home health administration
• Strong clinical background and leadership skills
• Great communication and people skills
• Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills
• Have a current unencumbered, valid Iowa Nursing RN license
• Possess a valid Driver’s License
• Have or obtain a current CPR certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of Home Health experience
• Atleast 1 year of supervisory and administrative experience
