Spirit AeroSystems focuses on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.Location: Wichita, KSResponsibilitiesKey AccountabilitiesAs the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within the operation supportingDevelop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposalsProvides expertise in production engineering disciplinesApplies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required . Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operationsDevelops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principlesLeads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projectsProvides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staffQualificationsRequirements:Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support, or 2 years minimum experience with a Bachelor’s Degree .High level of understanding of composites and manufacturingExperience with Continuous improvementStrong listening skills and a willingness to learnHigh level understanding of composite fabrication and manufacturingAbility to work cross-functionallyBasic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, navigate through 3-D engineering models)Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceU.S. Citizenship is requiredSuccessful candidates must be able to secure Program access approvalPreferred Qualifications:SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized dailyManufacturing/shop floor experience is a plusLean and Six Sigma experienceUnderstands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvementsBachelor’s Degree preferred not required .
