As an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor supporting our manufacturing site, you will be trusted with providing direction and technical expertise to the Electro-Mechanical Technicians working on the production floor by helping to maintain open communication between the production team and the Electro-Mechanics (EM) to help improve the overall process.

In this role, a typical day will include :

Developing and improving proficiencies for the EM staff

Driving TPM through the shift ensuring compliance with our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Presenting with the production team to maintain and provide updates as to equipment status and how to move forward as a team

Identifying areas for improvement (i.e., quality, yield, etc.)

Providing feedback with the spare parts that come out of rebuild and identifying training needs ensuring stock levels are adequate

Performing and providing various tasks for process improvements

Deciding if a production line needs to be shut down and re-arranging team members as required to help perform all the work necessary for the shift

Deciding if additional personnel need to be called in if the absenteeism for the day is high.

Advising mechanics in the priorities of the business by putting focus on the appropriate areas

Advising spare parts on needs for parts and helping to settle appropriate shipping time to receive parts on time

Providing feedback on changes and upgrades as to what is beneficial to the business

Providing production managers with technical solutions for daily issues

Identifying areas in the process for quick part changes and working with vendors to provide workable solutions

Identifying and relaying technical information to support various projects (i.e., engineering studies support, etc.)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON :

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 10 yrs; Assoc. 6 yrs; M.S. 0 yrs)

The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

2 Years of Relevant Experience

Work hours : 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating night shift : 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :

Proven experience working in a fully automated production environment is a plus

Proven experience working in a manufacturing production environment

Having past leadership or management positions
