Summary/Objective
Quality Control Inspector 1, performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests, during the manufacturing of products. Inspects materials, parts, and products, at different stages of production, or assembly.
Job Description
- Inspects to ensure manufactured products meet the specified standards and specifications of the drawing, so the parts meet quality standards.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; notifies purchasing of defects.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor or operators.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Essential Functions
- Read blueprints and specifications
- Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
- Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
- Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Accept or reject finished items
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
- Operate electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs).

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 3 - 12-hr shifts Fri thru Sun 0600 to 1800. Hours of work are subject to change to coincide with the standard hours of the manufacturing plant.

Required Education and Experience
- Experience in metrology a must.
- Up to 3 years of experience in quality control role, or equivalent work experience with measuring
devices and blueprints in a manufacturing environment.
- Software experience with PC-DMIS helpful
- Experience in reading and interpreting single part as well as assembly drawings
- Base knowledge in metallurgy and instrument calibration helpful.
