Patient Service Specialist (Receptionist) Role, Part-Time

Level: PSS Level 1 (training and mentorship provided to reach levels 2 and 3)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain focus on providing every patient with a positive experience
• Ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of audiences (patients, families, practitioners)
• Quickly assess all incoming and outgoing calls and any walk-in patients and prioritize according to level of urgency
• Obtain required information for new patient registration as well as confirm and adjust previously recorded data for existing patients as needed
• Accurately schedule appointments in person or via the telephone
• Collect and record payment for services provided and ensure that payment receipts are provided to the patient and to the billing department as required
• Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards and regulations in managing all patient information; must follow the policies and procedures of the department and the Center
• Effectively perform a variety of other assignments and prefects as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree required/Bachelor Degree preferred
• 2 - 3 years of experience providing direct customer service preferred but not required
• Display strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• We encourage applications from the healthcare administration field and customer service backgrounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
