The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Compliance Department in ensuring that we have an effective compliance program.

Responsibilities

• Support the Compliance Department in ensuring that we have an effective compliance program.
• Conduct internal audits in accordance with the yearly audit plan.
• Collect data for regulatory filings and compliance dashboard.
• Serve as point of contact for individual state regulations related to physician group practice and ambulatory surgery center operations.
• Develop policies and procedures aimed at ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist in compliance investigations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA program.
• Assist with vendor oversight for retrospective chart audits.
• Participate in annual document creation (i.e. Audit Plan, Work Plan, Effectiveness Evaluation, Compliance Handbook, Risk Assessment…etc.).
• Select annual compliance training modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree
• Work experience in healthcare compliance or healthcare preferred
• Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
• Basic Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
• Interpersonal skills that allow you to work with employees, regulators, and senior leadership with various backgrounds and skill levels
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to accurately process a high volume of work efficiently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
