Sr. Accounting Manager

Role Description:

The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of revenue accounting and accounts payable functions within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, accounting practices, and compliance requirements specific to the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Revenue Accounting:
   • Oversee the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
   • Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies and guidelines, including ASC 606.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to ensure proper revenue recognition and reporting.
   • Perform revenue analysis and reconciliation to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
2. Accounts Payable Management:
   • Supervise the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
   • Ensure adherence to internal controls and procedures related to accounts payable operations.
   • Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
   • Monitor cash flow and forecast payment obligations to optimize working capital management.
3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
   • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to revenue and accounts payable activities.
   • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
   • Support external audits and regulatory compliance requirements related to revenue and accounts payable functions.
4. Leadership and Team Development:

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team, promoting accountability and excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Extensive experience in revenue accounting and accounts payable management in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and ASC 606 requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with industry-specific software is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
