ExplorUS, a provider of exceptional hospitality services in the nation's most beautiful parks, marinas, forests and museums is seeking a Benefits Specialist who has a passion for helping others determine which benefits matter most to them and their families. Based in our corporate office in Overland Park, Kansas, the Benefits Specialist will oversee and lead the benefits offering for the company in a professional, thorough and quality manner ensuring that all federal regulations and Company guidelines are followed and employees understand their available benefits options in a timely manner. Responsibilities:
Healthcare and Voluntary Benefits:
  • Organize and lead open enrollment for medical, vision and dental benefits plans while collaborating with brokers to ensure competitive plan costs and thorough plan coverages
  • Work closely with HR Specialists (HRS) to ensure that all eligible participants are informed of the plan offerings on a timely and thorough basis
  • Ensure that EDI feeds from the payroll system to the carriers are working correctly and work closely with the payroll support teams to eliminate potential errors
  • Prepare monthly reports that identify eligible participants and communicate with the HRS’ for prompt enrollments/declinations
  • Work closely with 3rd party vendors to ensure that voluntary benefits are available to all eligible associates and processed correctly in the payroll system
  • Identify new benefits offerings so employees have many choices of meaningful benefits
  • Create reports as requested
401(k) administration:
  • Assist the Plan Trustees with the administration of the plan ensuring the bi-annual enrollments are seamless and flawless by producing accurate reports and working with the HRS’ to determine eligibility based on the plan rules
  • Upload, on a bi-weekly basis, all site deferral information into the plan portal, on time, and with complete accuracy
  • Assist with annual audits preparing reports and documenting TPA discussions
  • Understand governmental reporting and compliance and perform related tasks as requested
  • Assist with the preparation of annual census reports as requested by the TPA
  • Administrative:
  • Assist with work comp audits and ensure that work comp codes are correctly identified and set up properly in the payroll system
Administrative:
  • Assist with court orders and garnishments to ensure timely and accurate input of information into the payroll system
  • Audit monthly invoices to ensure accuracy for insurance and other voluntary benefits and company priorities
  • Other duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • Possess thorough understanding of benefits portal in payroll system
  • Adept at handling benefits matters in a timely, efficient and professional manner
  • Must be analytical and methodical with high attention to detail
  • Possess solid math skills
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and be a team player
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel) (Word) (PowerPoint) (Outlook)
  • Must be able to handle pressure with poise and confidence
  • Must be tenacious with a can-do attitude
  • Must be honest, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
College degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related
field (preferred)
Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in benefits administration
