Summary of Position:
Responsible and accountable for the successful operation of the Retail Store at the Company ensuring sales goals are met, inventory levels are appropriate, receiving is handled in a timely and accurate manner and all customer service standards are met in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Effective and timely training, coaching and mentoring of all retail staff members to improve skills and quality of customer service.
This position will have direct reports.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership within the retail and receiving environment to maintain the consistent delivery of excellent products & services and uphold the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction
  • Maximize financial performance and profit within the retail stores by supporting and executing the business plan with a focus on fiscal responsibility, effective employee recruitment, hiring and training and meeting the highest standards of quality
  • Provide timely and accurate financial retail reports, on a weekly basis, for senior management that clearly explain the operational effectiveness, trends and forecasts
  • Ensure all retail staff is trained, motivated and empowered to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Coaching and mentoring of employees should occur daily.
  • Regularly evaluate product performance and initiate modifications in conjunction with General Manager and HQ Director of Retail Operations
  • Assist General Manager and HQ Director of Retail Operations to develop and implement targeted plans to meet key performance metrics
  • Assist the Receiver/Warehouse staff to ensure 100% accurate and timely receiving of all merchandise for the gift store by:
    • Verifying incoming shipments are correct
    • Correctly receiving merchandise in POS system
    • Correctly labelling incoming merchandise
    • Ensure that merchandise is correctly put away (collaborate with the Sales Team and Warehouse Associate and/or Warehouse Manager)
    • Maintain merchandise displays according to company standards, maximizing performance
    • Manage and maintain back stock, keeping the area clean and organized
    • Ensure all deli product is correctly entered; updating costs and retail prices in concurrence with the allowable margin percent as managed by the GM
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
  • Understand company’s ISO (Quality and Environmental) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas.
 
  • Maintain professional image, including sanitation and cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards
  • Responsible for employee timekeeping and payroll accuracy
  • Maintain labor costs through efficient employee scheduling and time management
  • Take initiative to identify, report and resolve issues before they escalate
  • Perform other job related duties per Duties Checklist and as assigned
  • Maintain job related confidentiality at all times
Position Requirements:
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to perform with the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Must respond well to a changing work environment and able to perform at the highest level with minimal supervision
  • Must possess strong leadership and managerial skills that include the ability to coach, develop and clearly communicate expectations
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to proactively recommend solutions
  • Must have financial background with the proven ability to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and fiscal management
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS system functionality
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Majority of time will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
  • Position involves frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting 25 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
Knowledge and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in Hospitality, Business or related field
Experience: Minimum 5 (five) years successful retail sales/business management POS experience
