Trissential is currently seeking a Part-Time UX/UI Designer to join our remote client team in Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities

Job Summary: The part-time UX/UI designer is responsible for collaborating with the client's digital and customer experience team to conceive, design, and test improved digital experiences. You will be part of a team at the client that is leading a multi-year digital transformation journey to re-imagine the customer experience through digital innovation and differentiated service. Your role involves designing the overall functionality of websites and user interfaces to ensure a great user experience for various user types. Working collaboratively in an Agile environment, you will help improve digital experiences by applying your expertise and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with digital product owner, customer experience leader and digital team members to create digital user experiences by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching and prototyping intuitive user experiences.
  • Analyze user data and perform task analysis to understand and improve the user experience.
  • Collaborate with team to identify opportunities to improve UX and UI.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • Create UX copy and UX visual design.
  • Create and maintain UX documentation.
  • Maintain and refine pattern libraries.
  • Lead usability testing initiatives.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs, while collaborating with the team. 
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features.

Qualifications

  • User Research: Conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to understand user needs and behaviors.
  • Information Architecture: Organizing and structuring content to optimize navigation and accessibility.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Creating high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and workflows.
  • Visual Design: Applying principles of color theory, typography, and layout to create aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
  • Interaction Design: Designing interactive elements and animations to enhance user engagement and usability.
  • User Testing: Iteratively testing designs with real users to gather feedback and refine the user experience.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyzing complex problems and developing innovative solutions that balance user needs with business goals.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to align design solutions with project objectives.
  • Proficiency in Design Tools: Mastery of design software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or InVision for creating and presenting design deliverables.

Skills

  • Minimum of three years of digital design experience.
  • Experience with Figma UX software.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions.
  • Understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Understanding of and experience with ADA standards.
  • Experience with usability testing and A/B testing.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams.
  • A solid grasp of digital technology and trends.
  • Passionate about all things digital and other areas of design and innovation.
  • Clear, proactive communicator with strong written and oral communication skills.

Desired Skills

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing Portal experiences in insurance, financial services or health care.

Benefits

This part-time role is targeted to pay between $55 - $65 per hour on a part-time basis.
