The Electrified Powertrain Accessories Engineer’s prime responsibility is developing Electrified Powertrain Retrofit Kits and components for improved performance.

The Electrified Powertrain Accessories Engineer will work together with Stellantis BEV Engineers and Suppliers to ensure that Electrified Retrofit Kits are Safe and Reliable.

Specifically, the successful candidate will initially be tasked with defining and implementing the CAN Communications necessary between the Components making up the Retrofit Kits.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing Electrified Powertrain Retrofit Kits and Components.
  • Understanding, Defining and Verifying the interface between the components in the Electrified Propulsion System to be part of the Retrofit Kits.
  • Work with Suppliers to Define and Verify the CAN Communications necessary between the Components making up the Retrofit Kits.
  • Define Safety Requirements for Retrofit Kits, ensure ALL Safety Requirements are implemented.
  • Working Closely with Stellantis BEV Engineering Teams and Suppliers to ensure efficient integration of Stellantis and Aftermarket Components.
  • Write Component Source Packages, defining component requirements, for suppliers to quote against.
  • Presenting Statuses and Recommendations to peers and Senior Management.
  • Reviewing, developing and implementing Stellantis Best Practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in powertrain engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years Software Development or Base Engine Calibration experience.
  • Thorough understanding of CAN.
  • Thorough understanding of MATLAB and SIMULINK.
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, & have the ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical , Electrical, Electronic or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
  • Experience with BEV Calibration / Software Development.
  • Formal problem solving training & experience (e.g. Kepner-Tregoe, Taguchi).
  • Passion for performance cars & motorsports.
