Summary

As a Program Director at Miami Metropolitan University in Florida, you will serve as the academic administrator for a specific academic program, working to ensure high standards of educational quality and fostering an environment of academic excellence within your program. Your leadership will be key in curriculum development, faculty support, student success initiatives, and program growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Curriculum Development and Review:

  • Guide the ongoing development and enhancement of the program curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the mission of the university and the emerging trends in the field of study.
  • Regularly evaluate existing courses and syllabi, incorporating feedback from students, alumni, and industry experts to ensure continuous relevance and rigor.
  • Work closely with program faculty to identify objectives for student learning and outcomes, ensuring that course content and delivery methods are pedagogically sound and leverage the latest educational technologies.
  • Lead curriculum committees and workgroups within the program, fostering a collaborative approach to curriculum design and implementation that encourages innovation and interdisciplinary connections.
  • Establish a system for regular review of instructional materials and assessment methods to ensure they are up-to-date, effective, and inclusive.

2. Program Accreditation and Quality Control:

  • Support the university's accreditation process, including the development of program-specific content for the self-study that accurately reflects the program's academic strengths and areas for development.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to program quality and student learning outcomes, using this data to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Chief Academic Officer regarding accreditation standards and expectations, ensuring the program remains in compliance.

3. Faculty Support and Development:

  • Provide guidance and support to program faculty in their teaching, research, and professional development endeavors.
  • Encourage and support faculty in pursuing research, grant opportunities, and scholarly activities that contribute to the academic reputation of the program and the university.
  • Create opportunities for program faculty to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies, fostering a collaborative environment that values knowledge exchange and teaching excellence.

4. Student Success and Advising:

  • Oversee the academic advising process for students within the program, ensuring they receive guidance and support in their educational journey.
  • Develop and implement student success initiatives tailored to the unique needs of the program's student population, such as mentorship programs, academic support services, and career development opportunities.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene when necessary to provide additional support and resources to help students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

5. Program Growth and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the admissions department to develop strategies for attracting and recruiting top students to the program.
  • Engage in outreach efforts to raise the visibility and reputation of the program, such as attending educational fairs, hosting information sessions, and building relationships with local high schools and community colleges.
  • Seek opportunities to expand the program's offerings and reach, such as developing online or hybrid courses, creating certificate programs, or establishing partnerships with industry organizations.

6. Administrative Management:

  • Manage the program's budget, allocating resources effectively to support program priorities and initiatives.

  • Coordinate with other university departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and support to program students and faculty.

7. Regulatory and Accreditation Representation:

  • Serve as the program's primary representative at all regulatory and accreditation meetings and site visits.
  • Prepare and present program-related information and documentation to regulatory bodies and accreditation agencies as required.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from regulatory and accreditation officials in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and accreditation standards pertinent to the program, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to develop and implement strategies for maintaining regulatory approval and accreditation status.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
