Position: Field Engineer/Commissioning Specialist (A/V)
Location: Norcross, GA (25% travels)
This position entails overseeing the conclusive testing and commissioning of intricate Audio-Visual systems throughout both the construction and post-installation phases. Additionally, the role involves offering technical leadership, direction, and fostering collaboration among rack fabrication, programming, and field installation teams to ensure project goals are met. Close coordination with the Project Manager will be maintained to deliver comprehensive documentation of test results from system testing and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
Interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Verify the functionality of systems point-to-point
Review the Scope of Work (SOW) for projects to guarantee installation quality and completeness
Conduct testing and troubleshooting for integrated systems, particularly Crestron/QSC and DSP systems
Carry out field installation of control programs (QSC/Crestron), including uploading and downloading capabilities
Develop code for DSP systems
Implement minor programming adjustments under the supervision of an engineer or programmer
Calibrate audio video systems meticulously to ensure optimal performance
Configure IP addressable devices to establish network communication
Provide client training and complete final job documentation when necessary
Generate, monitor, and finalize a project Punchlist
Availability to travel to different job sites is essential
Offer support for user acceptance testing
Additional Responsibilities:
Engage in professional and timely communication with internal staff, clients, and peers
Demonstrate proficiency in using test and calibration equipment
Possess minor programming skills (QSC/Crestron/AMX) for making changes and troubleshooting
Capable of diagnosing complex system issues
Familiarity with advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control
Understand principles of IP networking
Exhibit advanced proficiency with PCs
Effectively communicate and interact with colleagues, clients, and employees
Excel in multitasking while adjusting to shifting priorities
Work independently and meet deadlines consistently
Showcase strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail
Hold a valid Driver’s License with a Motor Vehicle Record
