Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Merchandising Manager to develop and execute the merchandising strategy for Really Good Stuff's Curriculum/STEM category. This role is crucial in driving revenue and margin goals through innovative category management, merchandising presentations, promotional planning, and inventory forecasting. The successful candidate will lead the merchandising vision for ReallyGoodStuff.com and Amazon marketplaces, ensuring exceptional performance in both digital and print channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Category Vision and Strategy:
  • Develop and execute category vision and strategies for assortment, pricing, promotions, and visual merchandising across ReallyGoodStuff.com, retail, and marketplace channels.
  • Drive customer engagement and loyalty, attracting new target customers through digital and print channels.
  • Competitive Analysis and Innovation:
  • Maintain robust competitive intelligence and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and onboard innovative new products, continuously testing and refining strategies.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Collaborate with management on company goals and growth initiatives.
  • Report weekly on performance highlights, providing key insights and recommended actions.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform short- and long-term strategies and tactics.
  • Monitor and analyze eCommerce site performance, driving changes based on inventory, sales trends, and optimization opportunities.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization:
  • Partner with supply chain and replenishment teams to optimize inventory, fulfillment performance, and financial outcomes.
  • Develop, test, and refine eCommerce and channel-specific pricing and promotion strategies.
  • Visual Merchandising and Content Management:
  • Ensure flawless execution and optimization of visual merchandising and product content strategies.
  • Identify areas for site conversion improvement based on metrics, industry best practices, and business goals.
  • Strategic Vendor Partnerships:
  • Create and manage successful partnerships with vendors to ensure best pricing, assortment, exclusives, rebates, coop dollars, and first-to-market strategies.
  • Sales and Margin Performance:
  • Drive brand growth through competitive data, sales/margin performance, and strategic vendor partnerships.
  • Approve projections, minimum order quantities, and competitive pricing; track and provide strategies for underperforming SKUs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with sales teams on product knowledge and customer-specific needs.
  • Provide clear direction on projects based on company goals and day-to-day functions.
  • Ensure team adherence to product data accuracy, compliance labeling, packaging, and quality assurance testing guidelines.

Experience / Requirements:

  • 3 years of eCommerce experience required.
  • 5 years in merchandising, category management, and/or marketing.
  • Experience in education or seasonal businesses with a large assortment and high SKU count is a plus.
  • Proven experience in private brand management, working closely with product development teams to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Expertise in catalog strategy development and execution, market analysis, consumer behavior, and product positioning.
  • Deep knowledge of eCommerce best practices and a strong merchandising point of view.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with proficiency in AI-powered tools for market research and analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience with pricing and margin optimization tactics.
  • Passion for user experience and digital merchandising.
