Job Summary:

Excel Supported Living is committed to serving adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral issues and helping them thrive. Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide these services in their homes and in the community. Excel’s adult program assists our clients with preparing life skills development, financial stability, and maintaining stable employment. We train our DSPs to ensure they learn the skills and knowledge required to succeed!

As a direct support professional, you will be teaching and providing hands-on self care/personal hygiene skills, cooking meals, passing medication, doing household task, and fun activities. You are not required to drive our individuals.

No experience with direct care? That's fine! If the rest of the job requirements are met, we provide paid training and hands-on learning!

Salary: Starting $20.50 / hr

Job Duties (but are not limited to):

• Provides support to the individual to ensure objectives are met in accordance with their individual treatment plans
• Coordinate, organize, and/or assist with household activities such as light housekeeping and meal preparation, yard maintenance, packing, and moving the furniture of individual receiving services
• Required to monitor the administration of medication
• Encourage community participation
• Arrange and schedule medical, dental, para transit appointments for individuals in care
• Monitor all physical, mental, emotional, or environmental issues of individuals as related to their position and report outcomes or concerns to direct supervisors
• Accompany individuals receiving services to planned and/or necessary activities and appointments - via personal vehicle, public transport, etc.
• Maintains daily progress notes and any other appropriate documentation in accordance with Excel’s policies, program standards, or other regulatory policies
• Communicate effectively with team members
• Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by direct supervision

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid Driver's License or Proof of Identification
• Successful clearance of background checks
• Must be able to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver and reposition 50 lbs.
• High School Diploma, GED or higher (preferred)

Available Shifts: Full-time, Part-time, On-call, Days, Swing, Graves, Weekends
