Description : Medical Secretary

Medical Secretary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing seamless administrative support to our medical staff, ensuring the highest levels of organization and patient care.

  • Managing provider schedules and template
  • Scheduling appointments, problem-solving and schedule optimization
  • Obtaining, managing and troubleshooting referrals and authorizations for visits, imaging, surgery and procedures
  • Communicating proactively with clinical staff any issues concerning patient care
  • Completion of pre- and post-op paperwork including work / school notes, disability paperwork, medical necessity forms
  • Assists with scheduling of outside appointments, including MRI and hospital based procedures

Requirements :

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred
  • Able to work independently
  • Great Phone and people skills
  • Must be a team player and willing to work together with a tight-knit organization
  • Must possess effective communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with fast-paced physical therapists, medical professionals, patients and their families
  • Must have efficient documentation skills, an attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Must be comfortable with EMR (electronic medical records)
  • Must possess a personable, collaborative attitude, and the ability to prioritize many different projects simultaneously
