Job description
Busy optometric practice is looking for a professional, organized and energetic new staff member. As the first point of contact for our company, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and creating a positive impression for our patients. The ideal candidate is dependable, willing to cross train, have great customer service skills and be a team player with a "can do" attitude. No experience is necessary but must be eager to learn. The position is Monday through Thursday, no weekends with Fridays off (approximately 30 hrs/week). No insurance benefits but paid vacations and holidays plus 401K available with match.

The front desk receptionist provides a variety of patient and customer service related activities within the front office/reception area. These activities include but are not limited to: greeting patients, checking patients in and out, updating patient information, verification of patient insurance eligibility/benefits and patient financial responsibility, collecting copays/coinsurance/account balances, scheduling initial and return appointments, scheduling outside diagnostic testing, balancing money collected and cash box at end of the day, filing and maintaining paper medical records as needed, and serving as the liaison between the patient and medical support staff.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent is required; a minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting is preferred; medical insurance knowledge is also preferred.
