Job Title: Director of Development for Exalt Education

Exalt Academy is a dynamic open-enrollment public charter school that focuses on closing the achievement gap for underserved students in grades K-8 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Overview of Development Director Job:

As the Director of Development, you will lead the charge in raising money for Exalt Academy through building and maintaining strong relationships with the community, donors, and stakeholders locally and nationally. This multifaceted role requires a strategic and dynamic individual with expertise in fundraising, grant writing, community partnerships, philanthropy, and brand awareness.

Primary Responsibility:

Raise money to enhance academic experiences for students attending Exalt Academy of Southwest Little Rock.

This will be accomplished through the following activities:

Fundraising Events:

· Develop creative and engaging event concepts to attract donors and build a sense of community.

· Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events to generate financial support for the school.

Grant Writing:

· Identify and research potential grant opportunities to support the academy’s initiatives.

· Prepare compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the academy’s mission and goals.

· Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.

· Manage grants and required reporting.

Community Partnerships:

· Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.

· Collaborate with partners to create mutually beneficial programs and initiatives.

Philanthropic Relationships:

· Develop and implement strategies to engage donors and foster a culture of philanthropy within the school community.

· Create and manage donor recognition programs to express gratitude and strengthen donor relationships.

Brand Awareness and Education:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive branding and marketing strategy to enhance the school's visibility.

· Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.

· Provide tours by bringing in community members to educate them on our mission and good work.

Communication Strategy:

· Develop and implement a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed of the school's achievements, events, and initiatives.

· Utilize various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.

Stakeholder Engagement:

· Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, alumni, staff, and other key stakeholders.

· Foster a sense of community and engagement through effective communication strategies and ongoing participation opportunities at the school.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience successfully raising money for organizations.

· Ability to boldly tell the story of Exalt Academy generating financial support.

· Previous experience grant writing and in community engagement.

· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

· Familiarity with educational environments and charter school operations.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant communication tools.

· Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
