DevOps Engineer (Database Specialization)

What you will do:

• Interface with key stakeholders to deliver technical solutions across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Employ your proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and PL/pgSQL to enhance database functionalities and performance.
• Lead the design and implementation of database triggers and views to automate processes and optimize data retrieval.
• Ensure database health through comprehensive understanding and application of the PostgreSQL vacuum process.
• Manage large-scale database environments, focusing on performance tuning and scalability.
• Develop and implement robust database replication, backup, and recovery strategies.

What we are looking for

• Location: Must be within commuting distance of Austin, Texas, or be willing to relocate.
• Technical Proficiency: in SQL and PostgreSQL, with a strong grasp of PL/pgSQL for advanced database functionalities. Experience with MongoDB, Kafka data pipeline, and/or Node.js would also be a plus.
• Experience: in designing and implementing database triggers, developing and managing materialized and standard views for optimized data retrieval.
• In-depth Knowledge: of the PostgreSQL vacuum process to maintain database health.
• Proven Capability: in managing large-scale databases with a focus on performance tuning and scalability.
• Expertise: in database replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
