EVRAZNA.COM is Hiring a Safety Supervisor Near Portland, OR

EVRAZ NA is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join their team in Portland, Oregon. As a Safety Supervisor, you will identify, develop, and implement programs and activities necessary to prevent incidents likely to result in personal injuries or property damage. This person will maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, assist with claims management and grow the safety culture.
  • Develop and implement safety management systems, which include; written standards, training requirements, monitoring/auditing elements and corrective action steps
  • Provide personal leadership and professional guidance to operations in performance of safety management requirements, including incident investigation, safety training and communications, inspection and auditing, hazard assessment, and implementation of site business safety plans
  • Maintain records and documentation required by national or provincial regulations
  • Evaluate, specify and audit the proper application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain and update as needed existing cardinal safety programs including: Fall Protection, Mobile Equipment Operation, Lockout/Tagout/Tryout, Crane Operations, Confined Space Entry and Electrical Safety
  • Directly interact with the Plant Operations Managers and Senior Management staff members in the determination of loss prevention objectives and the development of objective attainment plans
  • Manage environmental health programs and upgrade with continuous improvement as the objective. These programs include; Hearing Conservation, Radiation Safety, Respiratory Protection, Heat Stress, and Drug Free Workplace, among others
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental sciences or related field preferred
  • 5 years experience in managing in comprehensive safety program
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to affect positive behavior in others.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing preferred
  • OSHA certifications preferred
