The primary responsibilities for a Petroleum Service Technician are:
· Diagnose and service petroleum service calls
· Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all petroleum equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended schedules, equipment tagging, and developing warranty/replacement programs
· Troubleshoot all customer calls in regard to equipment (Fuel Pumps/Dispensers, POS Systems, Tank & Line Monitoring Systems, and various other types of equipment related to service/has stations)
· Advise customers about equipment condition and possible upgrades
· Complete service reports and work orders
· Communicate with parts department in regard to equipment needed
· Follow-up on customer inquiries that are not immediately resolved
· On a rotation to respond to emergency calls
· Perform compliance inspections
· Complete installation of and start-up procedures for new dispensers, monitoring equipment and POS systems
The desired qualifications for a Petroleum Service Technician are:
· High School graduate or equivalent
· Certifications are a plus, but not required:
o Veeder Root
o Incon
o POS (Passport or VeriFone)
o Dispenser (Wayne or Gilbarco)
· Mechanical and electrical experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
