Evermore is Hiring a Resort Engineering Manager Near Orlando, FL

About Evermore

Evermore Orlando Resort is an innovative 1,100-acre resort adjacent to Walt Disney World® featuring centrally owned upscale and upsized vacation rental homes, flats & villas, a luxury Conrad hotel, 36 holes of world-class Jack Nicklaus golf, and a massive 20-acre tropical beach complex around Evermore Bay, our 8-acre crystalline water amenity by Crystal Lagoons®. The surrounding beach areas feature zero-entry swim areas, bars, cabanas, private firepits, a lively food hall & gourmet market, a casual dining restaurant, and an event Boathouse that will provide a picture-perfect backdrop for weddings, banquets, and corporate meetings. Evermore is building a team that will bring these experiences to life in 2023 and is seeking individuals that want the challenge of building this exciting resort experience. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within all areas of the resort.
  • Supervise and direct hourly staff while providing guidance and support.
  • The use of application-based programs and Property management systems to assign work orders, perform inspections and provide reports.
  • The use of computer programs such as Microsoft office and google.
  • Identify and communicate organizational and developmental needs.
  • Routinely test, examine, and maintain hotel’s life safety systems to ensure they are always 100% operational.
  • Abide by and enforce facility rules and state laws and regulations.
  • Operate a motor vehicle with a standard or automatic transmission on public roadways.
  • Diagnose potential problems.
  • Assist in monitoring and developing Team Member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and evaluations, and delivering recognition.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other Team Members.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Maintain close working relations with resort vendors and contractors.
  • Interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting engineers, ensuring they perform in accordance with resort standards.
  • Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd party vendors.
  • Oversee projects, manage, and report on the work progress. 
  • Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and coordinate compliance of service contracts.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Encourage a safe working environment by identifying, using, and directing all other Team Members performing tasks to use relevant personal protective equipment as required.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in resort engineering is required.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a resort engineering position is required.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Vocational or technical training relating to expertise preferred.
  • Must be extremely computer literate.
  • Must be skilled in application-based tablet, phone and computer program use.
  • Must be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and Google
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems. (ex. Google Sheets)
  • Forklift certification and/or ability to obtain one by successfully completing a training program.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • CPO certification preferred.
  • EPA universal certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, and / or reach repeatedly.
  • Able to safely lift 75 pounds and carry, pull, and push heavy objects and materials.
  • Able to climb and work on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Able to be on feet and moving around for entire shift.
  • Able to work for long periods of time in non-air-conditioned space with seasonal temperature changes.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
