Wage Range: $30.40 - $48.63 per hour
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary:
Audits employee timecards to ensure adherence to union agreements and that employees are appropriately compensated for time worked, holidays, and various additional entries. Minimizes timecard errors by analyzing timecard issues, documenting errors, and developing educational materials for employees and managers. Responsible for maintaining end-to-end knowledge of the timekeeping and payroll processes and services.
Primary Duties:
1. Audits time and pay history records to identify the need for retroactive pay adjustments.
2. Verifies compliance with union agreements to ensure that personnel are appropriately paid for time worked, holidays, vacations, sick leave, jury duty, various earned leaves, or other compensation.
3. Effectively answers questions and explains complex union contract pay processes, via verbal and written communication. Research and answer inquiries from managers, supervisors, and employees.
4. Participates in the testing of new enhancements or upgrades that may affect employees pay. Ensures payroll system accuracy by testing and validating union contractual changes.
5. Provide guidance and direction to users on time and attendance issues.
6. Facilitate time and attendance training.
7. Monitor employees time and attendance records for inconsistencies.
8. Assist with troubleshooting time and attendance system.
9. Assist with processing payroll for Union, exempt and non-exempt pay groups.
10. Verifies vacation, sick, and holiday hours requested against available balances on the benefit register.
11. Complete prior pay period corrections by verifying accuracy of documentation submitted by managers.
12. Calculates retroactive pay adjustments.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
* Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 3 years of Payroll experience
* General office experience
* Auditing experience
* Experience with training
* Key-board and 10-key by touch
DESIRED for the position:
* Computer skills with ERP system
* 5 year of payroll experience
* Experience in a health care organization or a heavily unionized environment
