Position: Nurses Aide 
Location: Flushing, NY
Duration: 2 Months

Shift:

• Hours: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Break: 45-minute break included
• Rotating Weekends: Required
• Floating: May be required to float to other units as needed.

Job Summary:

The Nurse's Aide is responsible for providing essential support to the nursing staff by assisting with patient care and daily activities. This role involves helping patients with personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures, as well as obtaining vital signs and other key measurements as needed. The Nurse's Aide must be able to lift and position patients safely and report any changes in patient status to the RN or charge RN immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Reposition patients on bed rest every two hours to prevent pressure injuries.
  • Obtain patient height, weight, and vital signs as required.

• Observation and Reporting:

  • Monitor patients' conditions and immediately report abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the RN or charge RN.

• Safety and Support:

  • Safely lift and position patients for procedures or comfort.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, following all safety protocols.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the RN or charge RN.

• Floating:

  • Flexibility to float to other units as needed to provide support.

Requirements:

• Credentials:
  • New York State Nurse Aide Certification (required).
  • One year of experience as a CNA (required).
• Compliance and Verification:
  • Must complete and maintain all required documentation and credentials, including:
    • Annual Physical Exam
    • Background Check
    • COVID Immunization/Deferral/Waiver
    • Drug Screen (no expiration)
    • Education Verification (Diploma/Transcript)
    • Immunizations (Flu Shot, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, etc.) or Declinations as required.
    • TB Test
    • Vision Screening (Snellen)
    • Confidentiality Agreement, and other credentials as listed in the notes.

• Orientation:
  • First-day orientation from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Dress Code:
  • Must wear royal blue scrubs.
